Getting Started & Activation
Q: What version of Notewise do I need?
A: You need Notewise for Android version 2.18.3 or higher, or Notewise for iOS version 2.18.2 or higher to activate your business license. Please update your app if necessary.
Q: How do I activate my Notewise Unlimited license?
A: It's easy! Follow these steps inside the Notewise app:
Open Notewise on your device.
On the main home page (where your notes are listed), tap the note count indicator at the top-right corner.
Tap the "Upgrade" or "Go Unlimited" button/option.
Look for and tap the option specifically labelled "I have a school or business email".
Enter your full work or school email address.
Check your work/school email inbox for a message from Notewise containing a one-time passcode (OTP).
Enter the OTP back into the Notewise app when prompted.
Once verified, Notewise Unlimited features will be unlocked on that device!
Managing Your License & Devices
Q: What is a "License Limit"?
A: Your organization's administrator sets a limit on how many devices (phones or tablets) you can have Notewise Unlimited active on simultaneously using your work/school email. The default is usually one device, but your admin might allow more.
Q: I want to use Notewise Unlimited on another device (e.g., phone and tablet). How?
A: This depends on the License Limit set for you by your administrator.
If your limit allows for multiple devices (e.g., 2 or more), simply repeat the activation steps (using your work/school email and OTP) on your second device.
If you try to activate a new device and see a message that you've reached your license limit, it means you need to either contact your administrator to request a higher limit OR deactivate the license on one of your currently active devices first (see next question).
Q: How do I deactivate Notewise Unlimited on an old or unused device?
A: You have two options:
From the Old Device: Open Notewise on the device you want to deactivate. Tap the "Unlimited" icon (usually top-right). Find an option like "Manage Activation" or similar, and choose "Deactivate". This frees up that activation for you to use on a different device.
During New Device Activation: If you activate on a new device and have reached your limit, the app should automatically prompt you, showing a list of your currently active devices. You can select an old device from that list to deactivate it directly, which will then allow the new device to activate.
Q: Is this license lifetime?
A: Yes! The Notewise Unlimited access provided by your organization is a lifetime license for the features included at the time of activation. As long as you remain part of the organization and can successfully verify your work/school email address when needed (e.g., activating a new device), your access continues.
Other Plans & Questions
Q: Does this include Notewise Cloud sync?
A: No, the Notewise Unlimited license provided by your school or business currently does not include Notewise Cloud synchronization features. However, for users on iOS, you may use the iCloud sync features provided as part of Notewise Unlimited benefits.
Q: Can I still pay for Notewise Cloud myself if I want it?
A: Yes, absolutely. Having the business license for Unlimited features doesn't stop you from purchasing a separate Notewise Cloud plan using your personal payment method through the App Store or Google Play Store if you wish. Your device would then use the Cloud plan features. If you later decide to stop your Cloud subscription and sign out of that plan, your device can typically re-activate using your work/school email to use the business-provided Unlimited license again (subject to your license limit).
Q: What if I have trouble activating or think there's an issue?
A: Please first contact your organization's designated Notewise administrator. They manage the licenses and user limits and can check the status or adjust settings if needed. If they confirm it's not an administrative issue, you or your admin can reach out to Notewise support at support@notewise.dev.
