Unable to connect to Notewise Cloud

Troubleshoot Notewise Cloud connection errors caused by network issues, VPNs, ad-blockers, device filters, or regional restrictions.

If you see an error message such as “Unable to connect to Notewise Cloud”, the issue is usually caused by a network connection error, network restrictions, or a network filtering app on your device.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Switch networks: Try using a different Wi-Fi network, or switch to mobile data and open Notewise again. This helps determine whether the problem is related to your current network connection.

  2. Disable VPNs: Some VPN apps may mistakenly block Notewise traffic. Temporarily turn off your VPN, restart Notewise, and test the connection again.

  3. Check ad-blockers or filtering apps: Notewise Cloud runs on Google’s cloud infrastructure. Some ad-blockers, DNS filters, firewalls, or security apps may mistakenly classify this cloud traffic as ads or trackers. Try disabling them temporarily or adding Notewise to their allowlist.

  4. Check device-level network tools on modified devices: If your device has been modified—such as a rooted Android device or a jailbroken iPhone/iPad—please check whether any background root-level network monitoring, firewall, or filtering tools are interfering with Notewise’s connection.

  5. Mainland China availability: Notewise Cloud is currently not available in Mainland China because it runs entirely on Google infrastructure, which is restricted and may not be accessible in the region. The team will work hard to bring Notewise Cloud to everyone.
